I was a Texan before they were in existence. In 1999 the organization had a website dedicated for fans to come up with team names, jersey syles, helmet logos, and colors.I was always on that site trying to create. I was up all night waiting for the announcement of who was awarded the franchise. Houston or Los Angeles on October 3rd,1999. When I saw the news early that morning that Houston was awarded the franchise, I literally called everyone I knew, even if they couldn't have cared less. I was there for the unveiling of the name and jersey in downtown houston. It was down to the Toros, Stallions, Bobcats, and Texans. We made the right choice, now all we need is a great "fight song." The next step was when I purchased season tickets for me and my father in the inaugural season of 2002, and being there with him when they beat the Cowboys 19-10 was awesome. I've seen in person, watched on television, or listened on the radio to every game in the Texans history. It will be so much sweeter when they someday win the Super Bowl knowing that I've followed the team since their inception. This town will never have seen anything like it when the Texans reach the pinnacle, because the passion for football in this state is second to none.
